What Surfaces Can I Install Smart Tiles On?

Smart Tiles work best when installed on smooth, undamaged surfaces, including:

  • finished drywall
  • painted gypsum
  • smooth ceramic/glass tiles
  • wall paneling
  • mirrors
  • wallpaper

We do not recommend installing Smart Tiles over textured, damaged, dusty, or uneven surfaces including stucco, brick, stone, or unfinished drywall.

How to Cut Smart Tiles

One of the major obstacles in a DIY backsplash project is working around outlets or other objects. Smart Tiles makes it easy - simply measure the object and transfer the measurements to the back of the tile. Then, cut with a utility knife and peel & stick to the wall. It's that easy! How to Install Smart Tiles

Smart Tiles are simple to install and make for a great DIY project. In order to get the best results from your Smart Tiles project, follow these steps:

  • Clean Your Surface
    Wash and remove all debris from the wall you're installing on with a grease remover
  • Trace Your Guidelines
    To ensure perfect alignment, use a level and chalk to trace guidelines for laying your tile
  • Measure & Cut
    All you need is a ruler and box cutter to measure your tile and cut to the shapes you need 
  • Peel & Stick
    Fold back the protective paper backing, align the adhesive portion with your guidelines, and apply light pressure
